The President of the Government of Montenegro, Dr. Dritan Abazović, and the Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, today had an audience with the President of the Balkan Athletics Federation, Slobodan Branković, and the delegation of the Athletics Association of Montenegro headed by President Milorad Vuletić.

The construction of the athletics stadium in Podgorica was the main topic of the meeting, and the interlocutors agreed that in cooperation with the Athletics Association of the Capital City and the Government, it is necessary to start the implementation of this project as soon as possible, bearing in mind that Podgorica does not have this kind of sports infrastructure.

We are proud of the top results achieved by our athletes, especially considering the conditions in which they train. Our obligation is to give back in the near future with projects like the athletics stadium in Podgorica, which will provide better training conditions and certainly give better results, said the Prime Minister.

The President of the Balkan Athletics Federation, Slobodan Branković, thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and pointed out that Montenegro is important for the preparation of athletes from the region. He said that the Balkan Athletics Federation’s goal is for all capital cities to have athletic tracks and that this is only possible with the support of local self-government and the state.

The Prime Minister was presented with plaques and letters of thanks for his contribution to the development of athletics by the Athletics Association of Montenegro and the Balkan Athletics Federation.
