THE BEST ATHLETES OF THE BALKANS

At the annual ceremony of Balkan athletics, called “Balkan Gala”, which was held this year in Istanbul, the best athletes and rising stars were announced.

Without any surprises, Tentoglou Miltiadis from Greece and Tugba Danismaz from Turkey were declared the best athletes in the Balkans.

Tentoglou Miltiadis from Greece, thrilled the whole world when he became the Olympic champion in 2021 in Tokyo, after jumping a distance of 8.41 m. This year he also became the World Champion in Budapest with a jump of 8.52 m. His personal record reaches up to 8.60 m.

Tugba Danismaz from Turkey became the indoor European triple jump champion this year after jumping 14.31 m at the European Championships in Istanbul.

 

RISING STARS

 

The recognition for the young star on the rise went to our Adriana Vilagos, who this year defended the title of European champion for competitors up to the age of 20 in Jerusalem, after throwing the javelin 58.38 m. As well as the title of champion of the Balkans.

In the men’s competition, the Bulgarian athlete Bozhidar Saraboyukov, who this year became the vice-champion of Europe for juniors in the long jump and triple jump, received recognition.
