Balkan Cross Country Championships 2025

09 November 2025

Băile Felix, Romania – November 8, 2025.
After a 35-year break, the Romanian spa resort of Băile Felix once again became the beating heart of Balkan athletics, hosting the Balkan Cross Country Championships 2025 on the stunning and technically demanding course near the Betfia Crater.

The event was organized by the Romanian Athletics Federation (FRA), the Municipality of SânmartinACS Bihorul Oradea, and the Tourism Promotion Association of Băile Felix & Băile 1 Mai, under the auspices of Balkan Athletics.

It gathered 130 athletes from 11 countries — Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Serbia, Croatia, Israel, Greece, Ukraine, Kosovo, and North Macedonia — competing across U20, U23, and Senior categories, both men and women.

For many national delegations, this championship also served as an official qualification event for the 2025 European Cross Country Championships, to be held on December 14 in Portugal.

The competition was streamed live for over 4 hours on the Romanian Athletics Federation’s YouTube channel, reaching more than 5,200 views.
